It's Just a Blog...

Wednesday, June 29, 2005

The Magazine People BLOG is just a fun extention of our site to find out a little bit about it's webmaster, and to make surfing the site a little more interesting...

Ooops.

For those of you that actually keep up with the reading here, please forgive my lack of posting for that past few days. It seems that all of a sudden things seem to get bottle necked and everything becomes a priority. The result: no blogging for a couple of days. At any rate, we think Alycia may have broken her pinky toe. She skillfully clipped the side of a chair leg or something and hurt it pretty bad, the toe that is. It's pretty black and blue, but unforunately there is usually not a lot the doctors can do for something like that. The doctor told us to come in on Friday if the pain wasn't subsiding. The last couple of weeks we have been going through the Star Wars movies. IV, V, VI and last night I. Today we will try to watch episode II. They are fun to watch, but I would never own them. This Sunday I am preaching at the church. The pastor is on vacation in Florida with his family. I hope he gets plenty of rest as he could really use it in my opinion. Yesterday a member of the church called and said that someone they knew in NY had a family member dying of cancer in the Augusta hospital and said they would really appreciate it if a minister could visit him. Obviously I consented to go. When I arrived the family had just stepped onto the elevator, so I didn't meet any of them. The nurse asked if someone had requested for me to come. I said that his daughter in NY had wanted a minister to visit him. The nurse woke the poor guy up. He didn't look well, and I felt bad for him. I introduced myself to him, and he seemed pleased that I was there. I asked him if he wanted to go back to sleep. He said yes, then I asked if he minded if I prayed for him quickly before he went back to sleep. He consented. I prayed with him, but he had fallen asleep by the time I opened my eyes. A younger guy and his wife came in as I was getting ready to leave. I gave them my number and told them to call if they or any of the other family members needed anything. Very sad. Who controls when the end of their days will be? Only the Lord knows when your last breath will be taken. Don't procrastinate. Find the Lord while He may be found. Taste and see that the Lord is good....accept and confess today that you are sinner, ask Him to forgive you, believe that Christ died for you, and He rose from the dead, and you can be assured that one day you will be in Heaven with Him.
