Sad Day on the Internet
Yesterday was strange. It started off great. My wife called me upstairs (as I have an office in the daylight basement) to report the wonderful news that my 2 year old son, Seth, had just pooped on the potty. I walked into the bathroom to see his big blue eyes gleeming and smiling face stretched from ear to ear. I clapped and did a victory jig right there then ran and got him some chocolate chips (his favorite). One of those landmark events in the life of a child, so sweet, innoccent, and precious. Then, later in the day, I received an email stating that Corey Rudl had died in a racing accident in San Jose, California the previous day (June 2). For those of you who didn't know of him, he was basically an Internet genius. He is someone that I have personally purchased products from and learned a great deal from his material. Well it's a sad day on the Internet I can assure you. You can read the news article at the LA Times if you like. I am certain that he impacted hundreds of thousands of people. He was only 34 (my age) and just recently married. My heart and prayers go out to his friends, family, and especially his precious wife. So almost the full spectrum of life was felt and witnessed yesterday. Strange. One day someone is just a small and fragile baby, then before you know it, sometimes much sooner than anticipated, life is over. Count your blessings, forgive as much as you can, and be sure to tell your loved ones that you really do love them. No one knows when their appointed time is.
